Event Details

Every other week, SDPL staff publish book reviews in the San Diego Union Tribune followed by a video review posted on SDPL social media the following week. Watch the Behind the Desk video and receive bonus content about the book.

Librarian Kelly Verheyden reviews Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson, a chilling psychological thriller about a bookseller who finds himself at the center of an FBI investigation because a very clever killer has started using his list of fiction's most ingenious murders.

Behind the Desk is our latest video series and delves deeper into the Recommended Reads published every other Sunday in the Union-Tribune. Check the Sunday Paper to see the latest review from SDPL staff or view our archives on the library website: https://sandiego.gov/sdplreviews.

Want other suggestions for great reads? Kelly has a playlist for you:

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
