Join us for Exploring the worlds within us: The immune system on the move, a lecture by Zbigniew Mikulski, PhD, director of the La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology Microscopy Core Facility. Arthur C. Clarke once quipped that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. Through images and movies, Dr. Zbigniew Mikulski, director of microscopy core facility at La Jolla Institute, will take you on a space odyssey to the outermost edges of the visible within us. In his lecture, Mikulski will explore how microscopy has revolutionized our understanding of the immune system and new imaging techniques help researchers follow individual immune cells as they migrate to inflamed tissues.
