Vote by Tuesday 11/13 to help select a World War I or Thanksgiving film for us to screen on Monday, November 26 at 2pm!

  • Home for the Holidays (1995, PG-13, 105 min)
A single woman dreads the annual Thanksgiving visit with her loving, but overbearing family.
  • Lawrence of Arabia (1962, PG, 222 min)
Epic about British officer T.E. Lawrence, who led the Arab revolt against the Turks during WWI.  Inspired by actual events.
  • Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987, R, 93 min)
A snob and a slob keep running into trouble, and each other, on their way home for Thanksgiving.
  • War Horse (2011, PG-13, 147 min)
A British youth and his horse develop a powerful bond that endures even on the front lines of WWI.  Meanwhile, the horse inspires everyone he meets, from German soldiers to British cavalry and a humble farming family.

On the 4th Monday of each month we screen a film that has been selected by the members of our community.  We are still looking for your suggestions as to what to show in November!  You can vote in-person at the PB Library's Circulation Desk, online in our Facebook poll, or by emailing your vote to cwainwright@sandiego.gov (link sends e-mail).  Also, please feel free to share your suggestions as to what we will show on Monday, December 24.
