Summer Paa’ila-Herrera Jones

November 7, 2022-January 7, 2023

Summer Paa'ila-Herrera Jones (she/her/hers), is an artist that works with various mediums, and explores themes of unique modern experiences of the Native peoples of Southern California. Summer identifies as “a mixed race Native, indigenous to the unceded lands of the Payómkawichum (Luiseño) ‘atáaxum (The Indigenous Peoples of the West)” and hopes to project good relations and a sustainable future through her art by exposing the truths of community, sovereignty, and generational love for humanity and this land called home, in order to combat the systematic oppressions still imposed on Native peoples today.
