Event Details

North America will experience a total solar eclipse, exclusive to the United States, on the morning of August 21, 2017.  Join us in a Solar Eclipse viewing party outside the Pacific Beach/Taylor Library.  We will have Solar Viewing Glasses for patrons (while supplies last).

San Diego is outside the path for a total solar eclipse but will experience a partial solar eclipse -- about 60% coverage -- at 10:23 a.m.  In the Community Room we will also stream live footage onto our big screen, for anyone who would like to see the total eclipse. 

Come experience an awesome celestial phenomena and enjoy a front row seat to what is sure to be an “out of this world” event!

*Note: Registering below will not guarantee you a pair of eclipse glasses.  Glasses will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Registering will, however, give us a better idea of how many guests to expect and prepare for.  Thank you!
