Event Details

Join Señor Chon on Friday, July 16th at 10 am on the SDPL Virtual Hub and SY Facebook page, as he reads "Willow and the Wedding" by Denise Brennan-Nelson &  illustrated by Cyd Moore, plus "And Tango Makes Three" cowritten by Justin Richardson & Peter Parnell, illustrated by Henry Cole...in celebration of PRIDE Month!

Bullied as a gay teenager, especially while performing in a high school musical, Uncle Ash, who is marrying his boyfriend, refuses to dance at his wedding, but flower girl Willow is determiend to change her favorite uncle's mind. Willow and the Wedding encourages self-expression, positive thinking, and pursuing whatever makes you happy, whether it be singing, dancing, or letting loose while spending time with family and loved ones.

Based on a true story, And Tango Makes Three is about two male penguins at the New York City's Central Park Zoo, who fall in love and start a family by taking turns sitting on an abandoned egg until it hatches.

Special thanks to Sleeping Bear Press/Cherry Lake Publishing Group and Little Simon for allowing Señor Chon to share these sweet loving stories with messages of kindness, acceptance and being yourself.
