Present: A Gift for Today

October 1 – November 30, 2022

An exhibition of oil paintings by artist Sarah Baek. Through this exhibition, Sarah hoped to capture the heart-fluttering excitement a child has in opening a gift. When Sarah arrived, San Diego greeted her with a cobalt blue sky, and the bright California sunshine filled her with hope.

Art has since been Sarah’s life's energy, comfort, friend, and companion. Each stroke of her paint brush or palette knife brushes away any lingering thoughts and leaves her with a sense of peace. Within Sarah’s paintings -- tall trees, flowers in bloom, floating lily pads -- she hopes you find that same sense of heart-fluttering excitement.

Through Sarah’s art, she hopes to present to you an ode for tomorrow: cheers to the present, a gift for today.
