Description of Event

Chicano Mexicano Prison Project is a grass roots community collective that has worked on the question of prison rights since its founding in 1990. All of the participants of the CMPP are volunteers that have been affected by the prison system in one way or another. This will be our 20th Conference addressing the question of prisons and its impact specifically on women and our families. Since we see that there is a significant rise in the incarceration of our women we want to have a space to have a dialogue with our community and supporters to share models of work and find ways in which we can change the current impact prisons have on our families. The conference attendance varies anywhere from 60-75 people and is open to the public.
