We supply the Legos, you provide the creativity!  Children are invited to unleash their imaginations and build!  All materials must stay at the library. Lego has small pieces and parental supervision is required.

STEAM Explorers Club is for 3rd through 6th graders who are interested in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics). Each week kids engage in a new and fun hands-on/minds-on activity exploring a wide range of subjects.

Around the World in Storytime!
Bilingual Storytime – Saturdays (Except the First Saturday of the Month)

Bring the littles and come for a fun dance party and maybe a storytime!  We will dance to fun songs, use egg shakers, and dance with bubbles!

Stop by and read to some fluffy friends! Join us as we host the San Diego Humane Society to promote literacy! They'll be stopping by with some furry companions that are itching to hear the next story!

Travel the world through different art techniques and styles on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, alongside professional artist Mel Clarkston.

LEGO Free Play: Imagine and build with LEGO! Keep your engineering and problem-solving skills sharp using the library's LEGO bricks.

We are excited to offer 3D Printing in person! Stop by the La Jolla/Riford Library's IDEA Lab during open lab hours with your .STL file and staff will be happy to assist you.

Beginner friendly computer-aided design (CAD) projects such as keychains and simple geometric models. 3D printing available during class. Open to all school aged children. No previous experience necessary. No reservations needed. 

Join us for our annual pumpkin painting pointing! Youth ages 4-17 are invited to come and paint their own pumpkin! All pumpkins and paint supplies will be provided.  Space is limited hurry and register!

Children can build with LEGOs and display their creations in the library.

Join Ms. Maureen and Library Volunteer Ms. Charity for lively discussion and fun activities while enjoying beloved fairytales, stories, and fables. No reading required! In March, Ms. Maureen will read aloud Aesop's The Lion and the Mouse. Ms.

Stretch your imagination and discover the artist within you've always known existed! Create fabulous crafts! In this program, get detailed instructions on how to make a craft you'll be able to take home!

Join us for drop-in craft Tuesdays. Kids of all ages can make a craft to take with them. All supplies provided. No reservations needed. 

Join Shelly and Tim for fun afternoons of ukulele strum along! All skill levels and ages are welcome to come and participate in this informal, weekly event. Please note that these are NOT lessons.

Let's play chess!  All ages and skill levels are welcome to play casual games in our relaxed setting. 

Join us for on-site tutoring for students in K-12! Kids at Heart is a volunteer-based program that provides tutoring and mentorship services.
