The La Jolla Library Poetry Group meets the third Thursday of every month at the La Jolla Library from 2pm to 3pm. 

New and experienced poets come together to read and share their poems.

A 45-minute Storytime for young children including books and music with the addition of American Sign Language signs with Jennifer Duncan from Signs at Play.

Stay and Play is a play group and storytime for kids age 0-5 and their adults. We especially invite nontraditional caregivers (friends, family members, and neighbors) who care for children in an informal way.

The Daytime Book Club meets monthly to discuss the selected title - interesting and fun conversations ensue!

New members and guests are always welcome!

These Storytimes, good for kids ages 4 to 6, are fun, kinetic, and humorous experiences!  I make it a point not just to read books, but to perform them as well!

Kamishibai Story Builders is a storytelling workshop for ages 7–10. In this 90-minute session, children imagine a story world, develop characters, and shape an eight-scene adventure.

Enjoy bilingual stories and songs with Ms. Lea. This storytime is great for families who speak English, Spanish, or both - or anyone who wants to introduce their kids to a second language in a welcoming environment.

Join us each month for a fun book discussion and craft for kids aged 8-10. This month we will be discussing Rodman Philbrick’s award winning The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P.

The Friends of the San Diego Public Library will be hosting its next book sale at the University Heights Branch Library at 4193 Park Blvd (at Howard Ave), San Diego 92103. Enter at the Sprouts parking lot entrance.

Please join us for storytime and craft every Saturday morning in the Children's Area at 10:00AM. 

Join us for Mandarin Chinese stories and songs with Ms. Canndy at the Community Room in the Mira Mesa Library. All ages are welcome! Th storytime will be on the 3rd Saturday of the month (subject to change).

Saturday is Story Time in Kensington Park. Bring a blanket to sit on and get ready for stories, music, and bubbles! Recommended for ages 1-5. Older siblings are welcome to join in on the fun!

Enjoy some sign language fun for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers with Ms. Jennifer from Signs at Play!

Come learn some simple signs and songs at this fun weekly event!

Practice your reading skills with a fluffy friend! Participants learn how to be safe around animals as they improve their reading skills.

The Great Escape is here! This program is for school-aged readers, K-12, to encourage reading and literacy. To complete this challenge readers must log 1000 minutes by May 31, 2026.

Join fellow cookbook lovers to discuss/look at new cookbooks, swap older books, and share favorite recipes!

Please bring your favorite cookbook and a dish to share from it or cookbooks you don't want anymore.
