Program Description

Event Details

Das perfekte Geheimnis (The Perfect Secret) is a little bit romcom, a little bit comedy, and one of 18! remakes of the 2016 smash Italian hit, Perfetti sconosciuti (Perfect Strangers). The winning story that inspired a Guinness world record in remakes across countries and cultures is pretty simple -  a dinner party among friends becomes a dare. Everyone has to put their cell phone on the table and any call, text, ping … you name it,  that comes in must be answered.  What could possibly go wrong? Or rather, what could possibly go right?

New year and new slate of foreign language film screenings! Join us for the Spring 2021 premiere of the Languages of SoCal Mini-Series. Movie lovers can look forward to six international films free to the public, screened synchronously and followed by a discussion with guest speakers and SDSU faculty about cultural aspects of the film and their immigrant experiences. The discussion will last about 30 minutes and include a Q&A open to all participants.

Event speakers: Prof. Mat Schulze (SDSU/German) and Marco Neu (computer science)

We’re partnering up with SDSU’s German program for the film. For any questions relating to this series and/or registering, please email Stacy Nyikos.
