The 58th year of the Local Author Exhibit is on display on the ground floor of the San Diego Public Library's Central Branch in the Dickinson Popular Library. The live/in-person exhibit will be on display for the month of February. The online exhibit  will be open for the remainder of the year and can be accessed “here.”  The exhibit offers additional information about the authors and their books, including purchasing information.

This year, in addition to poetry and novels, subjects covered include local photography,  True Crime – San Diego style, fantastical fiction, self-help, local and world history, religion, recipes and much more. There is a notable collection of illustrated books for children, along with early readers and young adult fiction.

The 2023 books will be available for check-out, in mid-March. In the meantime, the 2022 books will circulate through the end of February and are located just to the left of the exhibit.

Finally, the Local Author Exhibit highlights the creative accomplishments of writers in the San Diego region and shines exposure on local talent. Some authors are well known nationally and internationally. The Central Library and all 36 branches feature author talks and related programs. Visit the library's  regularly to find upcoming programs like this.
