Event Details

Commemorate Banned Books Week and join San Diego Public Library staff, community readers, volunteers, teen readers, and guest actors from Theatre: Undone and Intrepid Theatre for the library’s annual Read-Aloud Read-a-thon.  A new book and a new reader every 15-30 minutes.  

Banned Books Week’s objective is to help awareness regarding the censorship of books in the US. More than 11,300 books have been challenged since 1982. There were 323 challenges reported in 2016.  See the most frequently challenged books and the 10 most challenged books of 2016.

Featured actors: James Darvas, Hannah Logan and Tom Steward from Theatre: Undone, and Tiffany Tang from Intrepid Theatre.
