Event Details
The Lunar New Year will begin on Sunday, January 22nd, ushering in the Year of the Rabbit! Whether you want to create a cute party favor, cool invitation, or a sweet treat to not eat, we invite you to learn how to sew your own Fabric Fortune Cookies!
Library staff will demonstrate 3 techniques (ranging from very simple to a bit more complicated), and provide supplies for you to use to make your own fortune cookies.
What We Will Provide:
- Needles & Thread
- Scissors
- Felt and some cotton fabrics
- Paper for fortunes
OPTIONAL: Items You Can Bring:
- Your own felt or cotton fabrics, if you want to use certain colors. We will cut the fabric into 3" diameter circles.
- Pinking shears (if you already have them)
- Sewing Machine (only needed for the more complicated version)
RSVP required, since we are providing supplies.
