Program Description

Event Details

Celebrate Nuestra Cultura at the Library, by designing a decorative milagro heart in the tradition of Mexican tin folk art.  However instead of using tin cans we will upcycle old aluminum cans for this craft.

A milagro heart, also known as the Sacred Heart, is a small charm, often made of metal, that symbolizes love, healing, and gratitude. In Spanish, "milagro" means "miracle," and these charms are traditionally used in Mexico and other parts of Latin America as votive offerings or tokens of faith.

What We Will Provide:

  • Clean aluminum cans, cut into sheets
  • Patterns for inspiration
  • Scissors
  • Punching implements
  • Sharpies and paint markers

Supplies are provided, so advance registration is required.
