Learn how to authorize someone to speak for you when, due to serious injury or illness, you can't speak for yourself. Do you want to be kept alive as long as possible?  Or are there some conditions, such as insufferable pain or incurable cancer, under which you might want to be allowed to die? Who will speak for you? Why are family conversations as important or more so than writing your advance directive?
