Program Description

Event Details

What can you accomplish with your family that you can’t do alone? Join Arts Education Connection San Diego and our partners at the San Diego Public Library’s Valencia Park/ Malcolm X branch for a FREE two-part online program that explores the teamwork and camaraderie that comes from being part of a family. The program is designed for families with children ages 4-12 years old.

Work with AECsd Teaching Artist Stacie Birky Greene to transform the properties of paper, from flat and flimsy to a round strong log, using paper strips, pencils, and washi tape. Families will work together to create a collaborative freestanding and balanced sculpture. Afterward, share finished artworks in our virtual art gallery.

Pick up supplies at the Valencia Park/Malcolm X Library, located at 5148 Market St, San Diego, CA 92114

If you do not live in the Southeast area, library staff can mail program supplies to your home library branch, the last day to mail supplies will be October 18, 2021. Please email Francesca de Vera for assistance: FDEVERA@sandiego.gov

Please register online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/174547425047
