Program Description

Event Details

Embark on the art adventure of the summer! Sun Printing, or cyanotype, is a simple method to create photographs without using a camera - just the power of the sun and water. Collect natural materials as your subjects in advance of the workshop (leaves, flowers, or feathers work great) and join artist Oriana Poindexter to make your own sun prints. Materials are non-toxic. You can make works in the style of those that will be on display in the Community Room!

Description of suitable materials: Natural materials work well for this process, especially those that are partially transparent when held up to the sun. Examples include feathers, leaves, flowers, or trimmings from your garden. Adults and children alike are bound to enjoy this program. (Young children will require assistance from their caregivers.)
