Artist's Reception: Josie Rodriguez

Meet Josie Rodriguez, the artist who created "Collaborating with Nature: An Exploration of Contemporary Encaustic."   The exhibitition showcases the fluid, transparent and rich quality of encaustic wax as it is painted on a wood panel or formed into a vessel or sculpture.  Many pieces honor the work of the bees and draw attention to the current plight of the diminishing bee population.  Communication and memory are also themes of her work, with some of her poetry becoming subtle artistic elements embedded in Rodriguez's encaustic art.  Light refreshments will be served.
