Program Description

Event Details

Join Riot Productions during International Women's History Month for a staged reading of Ashland by Laura Preble.

Laura Preble ("Out", "Anna Incognito") brings to life the experience of parenting an autistic teenager side by side with her best friend as the two navigate IEP meetings, bullies, the educational system, and loving their kids as much as they can while not always knowing exactly what to do. This staged reading features Laura Preble, Jennifer Scibetta, Anthony Hamm, Bruno Bosardi, Tim West, Betty Matthews, Kevin Lopez and Landon Zenker, and is directed by Jennifer Waters.

A brief talkback with the family and friends support groups for autistic families in San Diego will follow the Saturday performance.

Riot Productions has a commitment to presenting female stories about women with arc and agency. We want to show and share these stories with the larger public to increase compassion and empathy for the unique struggles, triumphs, failures and successes of women. We also have a commitment to making theatre free and accessible for all particularly south of the 8, and are so grateful to have a space where we can make that possible.
