Meet award-winning author Sally J. Pla as she launches her new middle grade book, "The Fire, the Water, and Maudie McGinn," at La Jolla/Riford Library, presented in partnership with Warwick's! Pla will discuss the creation of her book, take questions, and lead the audience in a writing exercise of their own as well as give away swag. 

In the words of Harper Collins Publishers: "Neurodivergent Maudie is ready to spend an amazing summer with her dad, but will she find the courage to tell him a terrible secret about life with her mom and new stepdad? Free to attend. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event. This book is geared to Grades 5+.
