Join author Andrea Nelson for a discussion of her memoir Fort Unicorn & the Duchess of Knowthing. Nelson is a retired boxer who set out in search of her daughter, Shyloh, an addict living with mental illness on the streets of San Diego, including in Pacific Beach. In Fort Unicorn and the Duchess of Knothing, Nelson recounts her desperate efforts to find—and save—her first-born, delving into the roots of mental illness, addiction, and the meaning of unconditional love.
