Cradle shares the humor, tragedy and trials the author experienced growing up in Ocean Beach during the 1950s. His book provides an insight into how the sea and its mentors instill a sense of awe, joy, and wonder that allowed a small group of teens to navigate the treacherous shoals of adolescence.

After 50 years of research and university teaching, Dr. Lee Brown has published numerous articles, papers, short stories, and novels. He is most proud of being a San Diego City Lifeguard, as well as head of the ski patrol at June Mountain ski area. Dr. Brown’s original doctoral work was at U of Minnesota and later at U of Texas. Most recently he was honored as an inductee to the Point Loma HS Hall of Fame.
