Are you interested in participating in Banned Books Week, but don't know how? Consider joining readers, libraries, bookstores and celebrities across the country in the Banned Books Virtual Read-Out! Proclaim the importance of the freedom to read by posting videos of yourself reading that will be featured on Youtube. Post the videos between September 24th and 30th and show that words have power.
Banned Books Week’s objective is to help awareness regarding the censorship of books in the US. More than 11,300 books have been challenged since 1982. There were 323 challenges reported in 2016. See the most frequently challenged books and the 10 most challenged books of 2016.
