Program Description

Event Details

Using SketchUp Make 3D Modeling, students will learn the basic tools which will enable them to draw using a familiar pencil and paper paradigm, in software context, also leading into creating 3 dimensional graphic models.  As a class, you will follow along with the instructor, in becoming familiar with some skills needed to begin using SketchUp, such as, selecting a template, exploring the SketchUp interface, learning how to use SketchUp tools, viewing the Quick Reference Card, creating your first 3-dimensional model in SketchUp, saving and reopening a model, viewing a model, choosing a style, applying colors, photos, materials, and textures, and adding premade components and dynamic components. With the assistance of the instructor, we will carve out some time, after the instructional portion to dabble with SketchUp and get creative with your newly learned skills. If time permits, we may have each student share their creations with the class.
