Every other week, San Diego Public Library staff publish book reviews in the San Diego Union-Tribune followed by a video review posted on SDPL social media the following week. No Behind the Desk video this week. Instead here's a great discussion with Lamott about her book on Pacifica public radio station KPFA's Talkies show.

Librarian Angie Stava reviews Anne Lamott's new collection of essays Dusk, Night, Dawn: On Revival and Courage exploring the thorny issues of life and faith by breaking them down into managable, human-sized questions and showing how each of us can amplify life's small moments of joy by staying open to love and connection.

Behind the Desk is our latest video series and delves deeper into the Recommended Reads published every other Sunday in the Union-Tribune. Check the Sunday Paper to see the latest review from SDPL staff or view our archives on the library website: https://sandiego.gov/sdplreviews.

Want other suggestions for great reads? Angie has a playlist for you:

Broken (in the Best Possible Way) by Jenny Lawson

Calypso by David Sedaris

Solutions and Other Problems by Allie Brosh

Midnight Gospel Episode #2 - Netflix – w/guest Anne Lamott
