Program Description

Event Details

SDPL joins the international Bloomsday festivities on June 16 celebrating James Joyce's legacy and his great novel Ulysses with a live reading and performance of the book’s controversial last chapter, Molly's Soliloquy, featuring Molly Bloom, the sexually assertive wife of main character Leopold Bloom.  Other Irish tales by Joyce and other Irish writers will round out the evening.

Bloomsday is observed annually on June 16th, when Joyceans from all walks of life and around the world open a book, raise a pint, and relive the events in Ulysses, which take place on that single day, June 16, 1904.  Co-sponsored with Write Out Loud.  Find full text of the Soliloquy here.  I

Irish musician Eamon Carroll to perform at 6:30 before the stage performance at 7:00
