Join us at the Central Library for an afternoon of aural delight and pleasure!
Join us for the international Bloomsday celebrations of Irish writer, James Joyce and his great novel Ulysses with stage performances of short stories from Dubliners read aloud. Hailed as one of the very best short story collections in English, Joyce wrote Dubliners in the early 1900s at the heights of Irish nationalism against British colonialism and a search for national identity was raging.
Registration encouraged. Please scroll down. Refreshments served.
Bloomsday is observed annually on June 16th, when Joyce fans from all walks of life and around the world open a book, drink an adult beverage, and relive the events in Ulysses, which take place on that single day, June 16, 1904. Co-sponsored with Write Out Loud.
