We are celebrating Latinx Heritage Month!! Join us for a festive afternoon of cultural appreciation and a celebratory book launch with award-winning author, Beatrice Zamora and her beautifully illustrated children's book Am I Blue or Am I Green? Verde o Azul. Cúal Soy Yo? The book explores the immigrant world of a young child who examines his rich bi-cultural life and eventually defines an elegant and resilient identity.
THIS EVENT WILL BE ZOOMED LIVE FOR THOSE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND IN PERSON. ZOOM LINK WILL BE POSTED AND EMAILED TO REGISTERED GUESTS WITHIN 24 HOURS OF EVENT.
After a family-friendly and bilingual book reading, the children are invited to a Latinx-themed craft party in the Children's Room.
We will pivot to an adult-centered discussion on cultural arts and social justice for under-served communities in San Diego. Beatrice will be joined on the panel with illustrators Berenice Badillo (Am I Blue or Am I Green? Verde o Azul. Cúal Soy Yo?) and Maria Meza (Spirit of Chicano Park) for a discussion on the process of writing and illustrating children's books.
Event will include a book-signing and visual art display.
