Program Description

Event Details

All of us have been in situations where we have heard hateful comments or witnessed mean behavior. If you are a bystander who sees harmful speech directed at an individual or a group, you can find ways to make a positive difference. Learn how to create more inclusive environments that embrace diversity and foster a sense of belonging in this interactive workshop with the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC).

Participants will learn how to both communicate their needs with people in a way that helps the relationship, rather than hurting it. A deeper understanding of how others perceive and process conflict allows attendees to gain new insights into their relationships and how to adapt their style to work more effectively with those around them. These practical skills can be applied from the home to the office and beyond.

Bridge the Gap is a programming series brought to you by San Diego Public Library, Library Foundation San Diego, County of San Diego Health and Human Services via Live Well San Diego and NCRC, an organization that works to provide both services and training to transform conflict into resolution. By finding a common ground between different perspectives, outlooks and goals, people are empowered to overcome differences.
