Sandee Wilhoit is a former high school and college teacher with a background in U.S. history, psychology and educational policy. She is the Historian and lead tour guide for the Gaslamp Quarter Historical and the Gaslamp Players, a historical reenactment group.  She is the Historian and lead tour guide for the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation, and a member of the Gaslamp Players, a historical reenactment troupe. Sandee writes a monthly column, “Gaslamp Landmarks,” for the Downtown News, and has been a featured speaker at the Congress of History and many other venues throughout San Diego. She has, additionally, been featured in historical and paranormal videos for the Foundation, the City of San Diego, and other commercial institutions. She and her husband, John, a former City Planner, live in the historic Gaslamp district. Sandee writes a monthly column, “Gaslamp Landmarks,” for the Downtown News, and has been a featured speaker at the Congress of History and many other venues throughout San Diego. She has been featured in historical and paranormal videos for the Foundation, the City of San Diego, and other commercial institutions, and gives bilingual tours of the Gaslamp and has given a museum tour in Spanish for Mexican television. Sandee lives in the historic Gaslamp district.



Jamie is a "historophile" born and raised in South San Diego. She has a bachelor's degree in History and a certificate of specialization in Kumeyaay Studies.  She has been with the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation for five years and has led historical walking tours, lectures, and has produced virtual tours and digital content for the museum. Jamie is a member of the Gaslamp Players, a historical reenactment group, and has danced for He Nani O Polynesia, a local Polynesian Dance troupe for over 20 years.

 

The San Diego City Clerk's Office is celebrating archives month all throughout October with a series of lectures at San Diego Central Library and an exhibit on display at the City Administration Building.
