Event Details
Get ready for college in this San Diego County wide event! High school students (12th grade) and families are invited to attend to get help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act (CADAA) and Chafee Grant for Foster Youth applications with staff and volunteers from Cal-SOAP (California Student Opportunity and Access Program).

Filling out FAFSA?
Please get your FSA ID in advance and bring your login information with you.
Filling out the CA Dream Act?
Please create an account in advance and have the login/PIN ready if possible or get started on this day.
Material Needed
- Bring your laptop computer or tablet
- You will also need to bring copies of items such as driver's license or ID
- social security number (if you have one)
- 2023 federal income tax return
- list of assets like businesses/farms/rental properties
- recent bank statements
- list of colleges student is interested in attending, etc.
Student and parent(s) cannot share an email address; be sure you each know your own email address and phone number(s).
This program is part of San Diego Public Library's Discover U initiative for youth and emerging adults to explore their STEAM interests, prepare for their futures, and achieve their college and career goals.
