Black History Month 2026: Celebrating a Century of Black History Month Commemorations

Sacred Soil: The Piney Woods School Story with Special Guest and Local Filmmaker, JJ Anderson

The film tells an inspiring story about the history of Black educational institutions in America and how the last Black standing boarding school, Piney Woods School, is more than just an institution.

The Main Line Written and directed by Jennie Hamilton

A live performance of the life story of the renowned, late Gospel Singer, Mahalia Jackson. Written and directed by Jennie Hamilton-Local Oak Park Producer-Director of plays. Performed by the Oak Park CAT (Community Actor’s Theatre).

Out in Dem Streets: The Homelessness Pandemic Documentary and Personal Account with Dr. Patricia Williams

Dr. Williams shares her experience as a homeless person for a period of ten years and survived to come back up to living a new life after numerous tragedies.
