Chat with a Foreign Service Regional Medical Officer

This is not a library sponsored event.

Description of Event

The Department of State has a wide variety of positions, including several in medical and allied health fields: https://careers.state.gov/MED. The small event is focused on the recruitment of California health professionals, and students for our wide variety of medical positions in the Foreign Service. Our thought was that by having a informational recruitment event at the San Diego Public Library could help us in promoting our opportunities to those who might be interested in an international medical/allied health career with the U.S. Department of State. Since we are revitalizing our recruitment efforts, we have been interested in more in-person events since we have been heavily focusing on our virtual presence.

Diplomat in Residence Jason Vorderstrasse and Dr. Chayan Dey, Regional Medical Officer are hosting an information session about Foreign Service Medical Specialist career paths. Dr. Dey will be sharing his experiences overseas, work/life balance, family life and more. Both speakers will shed light to the application process and how you can start the path to become a Foreign Service Medical Specialist. Bring all the questions you may have and chat with two diplomats. For more information about what careers the Department of State offers health providers, please visit careers.state.gov/med today!
