STAY STRANGE, San Diego’s exclusive noise-music collective, will once again curate Checked Out: An Experimental Music and Art Festival at the Central Library!

Stay Strange has gathered an incredible roster of musicians that push the boundaries of mainstream music, creating a new style of sound that is innovative, progressive, and daring.

In addition to the adventurous music program in the auditorium, they'll have an equally exciting array of artists set up in the library courtyard.

Musical Performances will include:

QUADRA - A quadraphonic-only sound art & music ensemble. Participants are invited to “step inside” the QUADRA circle and be a part of the sound field.

Dark Friends - Dark Friends is an experimental gear based electronic solo project. From Connecticut, based in San Diego.

Christian Hell - Abstract noise artist making a hellish din from Tijuana, MX.

Kole Galbraith -  Kole Galbraith is a musician and sound artist originally from Wenatchee, Washington. Galbraith has immersed himself in improvised experimental music across genres, ranging from free jazz, harsh noise, new music, and metal.

Badge Grabber - Badge Grabber is the solo electropunk/noise rock pseudonym of Riley Ponce. Badge Grabber combines dissonant chaos with jagged rhythms.

Avant-garde turntablist DJ La Rompita Rekordo will perform in between the music artists. La Rompita Rekordo (The Broken Record in Esperanto) will play dusty thrift store records on an antiquated turntable through a dazzling collection of guitar effect pedals creating new music out of old.

Please join us for an event that will change the way that you listen to music.
