Join The Wet Lab and Samadhi N. Vitharana, PhD, Senior Director, Mapp Biopharmaceutical, Inc., for a discussion about ebola. Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), a deadly hemorrhagic infection, is one of the highest priority diseases identified by the WHO 2018 Blueprint list for Research and Development due to its potential to cause a public health emergency and lack of FDA approved treatments. During the 2014-2016 outbreak in West Africa, more than 11,000 deaths have been reported. A journey through the history, outbreaks and developing treatments for this deadly disease will be discussed.
