Program Description

Event Details

We live in an exciting time! We are on the brink of becoming a multi celestial species, yet in order to live on other celestial bodies like the moon, Mars, Venus or in space stations, we need to learn what it would be like to live in space. “Space biology” refers to the science of how animals (including humans) and plants react to the environment in space. We ask questions like: How could gravity and radiation in space change animal and plant biology, behavior and growth, and how would plants grow in the soil on a different planet? This lecture provides an introduction to the exciting field of space biology.
