Coding with DIY Drones

Students in this course will be transformed into engineers, designers and pilots as learn the ins and outs drones. Working in groups, each student will work to design and program a drone as well as run test flights and learn aerial acrobatics with drones. There will be a friendly competition to complete flight missions, giving students more opportunity to improve their drone-flying skills. No prior experience with computer programming or 3D modeling is required. Please note, the DIY drones used in this course are for indoor use only and are the property of Library NExT. Students are not allowed to take this home.

·        I understand this class is part of a partnership with UCSD. These classes differ from our regular programs in that they offer more of a structured, in-depth, and hands-on learning environment.

·        I understand I am responsible for arranging transport with/for my student(s) promptly at the start and end of the class.

·        I understand students should treat each other with respect; failure to do so could result in being dropped from the class.

·        I understand that a break will be included in the program and students are encouraged to bring water and a snack.
