Event Details

The Día de los Muertos festival is an important day to celebrate cultural pride in its many manifestations. There will be colorful low riders provided by Dead End Car Club, and entertainment by: Mariachi Victoria, Hoover High Marching Band, Drummers Without Borders, San Diego Ballet, Ballet Folklorico, Fern Street Circus, Let's Dance for Fun - youth dance group, and Rick & Friends; Elena Castaneda; Ray Navarette, musicians, and more! There will be a Fun Zone for young ones with bouncy "houses". Paper mask making activities for all ages is hosted by the San Diego Guild of Puppetry.

The Day of the Dead is a Mexican tradition and celebration in honor of our deceased loved ones in which we offer them altars that contain food and items that our deceased enjoyed in life. Many families throughout the United States observe this tradition in their homes and celebrate together with the community to represent the tradition of people visiting cemeteries to decorate graves.
