Jean‐Michel Basquiat

In celebration of Black History Month, this class will focus on the life and techniques of the New York based artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. After a brief history of the artist and a look at some of his works, young artists will create a self-portrait inspired by Basquiat’s style. Like Basquiat, participants will use a variety of materials to create colors, lines, and symbols to represent different emotions and parts of their identity!
