Description of Event

"Edna St. Vincent Millay: A Portrait of the Poet in Her Own Words” offers a glimpse into the storied life and moving poetry of the first woman to ever win the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. This reading will include selections from the full-length play of the same name, arranged and directed by Bobbi Randall from the letters and poems of Millay. Three actors, each representing a different period of the poet’s life, will perform: Kirra Adams plays the young Edna who burst upon the literary scene with her poem “Renascence” in 1912; Jena Joyce plays Vincent, the celebrated poet and playwright living a racy life in Greenwich Village in the 1920s; and Bobbi Randall plays Millay, the established woman of letters living an iconoclastic life in upstate New York.
