Libraries are safe and empowering spaces for innovators and creatives to use free resources to develop ideas, invent new products, and make plans for new businesses.

We welcome Shamichael Hallman, the Director of Civic Health and Economic Opportunity with the Urban Libraries Council, to share insights about how libraries offer catalytic services to support small businesses and entrepreneurs.

In this session, we'll discuss a range of innovative programs that public libraries are currently implementing, and we'll explore the future of entrepreneurial spaces in libraries. We'll also introduce toolkits that libraries can use to create environments that are affirming and supportive of communities' unique business needs.

We'll also hear from Patent and Trademark Resource Center Librarians who will share anecdotes about how local entrepreneurs have used the San Diego Public Library to springboard their success.
