Program Description

Event Details

Participants MUST bring their own laptop/Chromebook. Students ages 10-16 will engage in an exciting, hands-on robotics program to help them prepare to take part in FIRST robotics competitions. The instructors will provide the materials and teach how to design, build, and program robots using Python programming language in this session. Participants MUST bring their own laptop/Chromebook. There will be an engaging presentation followed by hands-on exercises. Prior robotics experience is but preferred but not mandatory.

Topics:

  • Learn about FIRST Robotics.
  • Learn how Robotics relates to the STEM field & applications in today’s world.
  • Block programming.
  • Python Introduction.
  • Convert Block code to Python.
  • Program and test by utilizing sensors like camera, color sensors, etc.
  • Interact and play with a fully functional FIRST Tech Challenge Robot.

This program is organized and led by Siddharth Yelisetty, Captain FIRST Robotics Team "Keep It Simple II" in collaboration with teams High Voltage, Green Griffins, Patent Pending and Spyder.
