Event Details

Music from the Creole tradition of the Louisiana bayou. Joe Sands Fontenot, born in 1939 near Mamou, Louisiana, is the living embodiment of the Creole traditional music of the bayou. This lively music includes two-steps, waltzes and blues sung in the Cajun French dialect and English. The songs encapsulate the stories of the people and places of the region. Joe’s band features accordion, violin, guitar, bass, frattoir and drums. Laissez les bon temps roulez, y’all!
