This workshop is hands on in our computer lab learning how to use the website, search for ancestors' records, and build a family tree using the free genealogy website FamilySearch.org.

· Hands-on experience with computers provided in class.

· Step-by-step guidance through processes.

· Bring birth, marriage, and death dates/locations of ancestors for tree building.

  Topics cover key features of the site:

  •                 Vast global records
  •                 Millions of digitized historical documents
  •                 Collaborative family tree of ancestral information
  •                 Platform for creating individual trees
  •                 Tools for tracing family history
  •                 Research assistance: guides, tutorials, help center
