On June 25, 1876, two warring armies engaged in battle in a quiet river valley in Montana. Elements of George A. Custer’s 7th Cavalry Regiment and six tribes of the Sioux and Cheyenne nations fought for supremacy and survival. The battle of the Little Bighorn has long become the iconic clash between the the Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes and the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army.
