Earth day is right around the corner! Join us for a special plant science edition of STE(A)M Explorers as we create two DIY grow kits to take home and watch grow!

 

First, assemble your "beans in a bag" kit using Lima beans, paper towels, a plastic baggie, and a little bit of water. Over the next few days, watch as your bean begins to sprout, grow roots, and a stem! This easy experiment helps children understand and appreciate the various stages of seed growth.

 

Second, use your artistic talents to decorate a flower pot using craft supplies, fill with soil, and plant your flower seeds. Take your flower pot home, follow the care instructions, and you should have flowers in no time!

 

This program is an engaging way to learn about basic plant germination and plant care while also exploring your artistic side!

 

For children ages 7-12.
