Event Details

Curator and historian Robin Lakin will present the history of the Marston House Museum using storyboards, guiding attendees through the museum’s stories. One of California's finest examples of the Arts and Crafts movement, the Marston House was constructed in 1905 for department store magnate George W. Marston, his wife, Anna Gunn Marston, and their family. George Marston is noted as a philanthropic civic leader whose interest and work in historic preservation, conservation, and history are well known. Designed by the acclaimed architectural team of William Sterling Hebbard and Irving J. Gill, the Marston House exemplifies fine design, craftsmanship, and progressive vision of Gill's work.

To extend the educational experience, participants will receive free passes to the Marston House Museum to explore the site in person.
