THE LOCAL AUTHOR EXPO
Public Opening of the 2025 San Diego Local Author Showcase
12PM - 4:00PM
2025 Local Authors, Guests and Members of the San Diego Community:
Please join us to celebrate the 60th Annual Local Author Showcase for books published during 2025. The exhibit will be on display from January 24 through February 28 in the Exhibit Fairway at the San Diego Central Library.
The day will begin with a keynote speech from award-winning author Dr. Dean Nelson. He is also the founder of the Writer's Symposium by the Sea and the director of the Journalism program at Point Loma Nazarene University.
Authors are encouraged to learn about and explore the many subject oriented writing resources at Central and throughout the library system, including the online and digital collections.
The 2025 authors will be invited to create a personalized souvenir courtesy of the Idea Lab on the 4th floor.

Registration for the general public is encouraged, however local authors of 2025 are highly encouraged to register yourselves and your guests. Future updates for authors will be done via email.

Parking: The library is located at 330 Park Blvd. During library open hours there is limited free parking with a 2-hour validation. Afterwards: $1.25 for each 20 minutes or part there of 20. Visit the parking website for additional parking options in the area.
