THE LOCAL AUTHOR EXPO
Public Opening of the 2026 San Diego Local Author Showcase of Published Books
2026 Local Authors, Guests and Members of the San Diego Comunity:
Please join us as we celebrate the 60th annual selection of San Diego Local Authors who have published a book during the year 2025. The museum quaility book exhibit will be on display from January 24- February 28 in the Dickinson Popular Library at the Central Library @ Joan Λ Irwin Jacobs Common.
The day will begin with a keynote speech from award winning author Dr. Dean Nelson. He is also the founder of the Writer's Symposium by the Sea and director of the Journalism program at Point Loma Nazarene University We are extremely thankful for his generous support and recognition of our burgeoning and talented writerly community!
Authors are encouraged to learn about and explore the many subject oriented writing resources at Central and throughout the library system, including the online and digital collections.
The 2025 authors will be invited to create a personalized souvenir courtesy of the Idea Lab on the 4th floor.
Registration
Registration for the general public is encouraged, however, our esteemed local authors of 2025 are highly encouraged to register themselves and guests. We will be updating the event via email as additional opportunities continue to be explored. Please hold your questions, as staffing is limited.

Parking: The library is located at 330 Park Blvd. San Diego, CA 92101. During library open hours there is limited free Parking with a 2-hour validation. Afterwards: $1.25 for each 20 minutes or part of 20 minutes. Visit the parking website for additional parking options in the area.
