K-pop Dance Education (Routledge, 2026) is the first comprehensive guide to teaching, studying, and researching K-pop dance in global contexts. Dr. Chuyun Oh, a pioneer of K-pop dance studies and an Amazon bestselling author, reveals the hidden logics of K-pop dance education based on fieldwork with K-pop idols, agency CEOs, and industry professionals across the US and Korea. She shares pedagogical methods explaining how K-pop dance is taught and how anyone can teach it, regardless of instructors’ backgrounds in dance. Positioned to meet the growing academic and public demand, this book provides adaptable teaching strategies for universities, arts high schools, community studios, and children’s and continuing education programs and serves as an essential resource for Korean pop culture, global performing arts, tourism, and study abroad courses.
Author Bio: Dr. Chuyun Oh (PhD, UT Austin) is a Fulbright scholar and Professor of dance theory at SDSU.
